About
Dr. Davis is a pre-licensed psychologist with specialized training in pediatric psychology, trauma, and emerging adult mental health. She works with clients experiencing increased stress related to a variety of mental health concerns. At IBC she offers therapy to individuals across the lifespan from ages 3 and up.
Dr. Davis has an open, collaborative therapeutic style that is grounded in evidence-based practice. She approaches therapy with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for everyone’s unique identities and lived experiences creating a balance between structure and flexibility. Her hope is to create an inviting space to explore client identity, values, life challenges, goals, and emotional growth at their own pace.
Dr. Davis has past research experience at Vanderbilt University Children’s Hospital which includes investigating the impact of parental stress on childhood outcomes and the impact of sleep on adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes. She has contributed to studies on trauma recovery, parenting interventions, and caregiver stress in medical settings.
Treatment Approach
Dr. Davis uses a person-centered, strengths-based treatment approach to identify the best evidenced-based treatment for your individual needs. She views therapy as a collaborative process which involves regularly checking in on client goals and adjusting the treatment plan as needed. When working with young children, Dr. Davis emphasizes parent involvement, developmentally informed care, and skill-building. With adolescents and young adults, she integrates culturally responsive approaches to support building autonomy, insight, and resilience. Across all ages there is an emphasis on providing a safe, affirming space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change.
This may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), or Parent Management Training.
